Over the past few weeks and months we’ve seen some ongoing collaboration between two seeming competitors, it started with Minecraft and moved on from there to the possibility of an app on the Switch allowing users to access Gamepass. The news coming out of Kyoto and Redmond, WA, is that these tenuous steps are part of a slated plan to join the two behemoths to take a larger market share through developing synergies that are not able to be developed by the current market leader Sony. The new, as yet unnamed joint-venture will allow current Nintendo users to obtain access to Microsoft’s well established online architecture, and in return, current Xbox users will have access to Nintendo’s back catalog online through gamepass.
