The Behemoth teases Castle Crashers Switch release

Game publisher & developer The Behemoth, creators of Alien Hominid, Castle Crashers, BattleBlock Theater, and Pit People tweeted out a very telling tease of what could be coming soon to the Nintendo Switch.

Those familiar with Castle Crashers will immediately recognize the joy-con colors as matching the 4 main knights.  When pressed about other characters that were introduced later in the game’s life they tweeted back simply with purple and pink joy-con controllers 😀

Castle Crashers was first released on the Xbox 360 in 2008, and has since been remastered and released for other platforms (but never Nintendo).  If you’ve never played it I urge you to look into it.  I fell in love with the demo (hopefully the Switch would also get one) and poured hundreds of hours into it with friends.  The controls are intuitive and the experience reminded me of the older Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Simpson’s beat’em ups, but with more depth and its own unique, humorous charm.  It’s not overly complicated and anyone can pick it up and play it, perfect for the Switch and single joy-cons.  While not perfect, what stood out to me was the leveling-up system and collection of new weapons and pets.

For me, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this game again on the Switch.  But let us know what you think!  Comment below or in our Community forums.
