Are we ever going to see Spyro: Reignited on Switch? That is a hot topic at the moment and unfortunately one that is still open for debate. A Switch listing was first presented on the official site for the game when it first came online but has since been removed from the platforms lists.
We got the Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy on the Switch and it proved fairly successful so surely Activision took note of its success and a Switch port for Spyro should have been a no brainer…right?
Spyro: Reignited team members, Josh Nadelberg and Peter Kavic, recently did an interview on the Game Informer Show where they were asked about the Switch version of the title. The news is neither good nor bad depending on how you look at it but they specified that currently the focus was on the PS4 and Xbox One versions and that any additional platforms was up to the publisher, Activision.
Activision, however, specified in November that, at the time of inquiry, had no plans to announce Spyro: Reignited on any other platforms. If the same still holds true today then Activision has seriously dropped the ball. We can only hope that we hear some good news in the near future because I, for one at least, have very fond memories of Spyro back in the day and would love to have this title on my Switch.
