Nintendo Will Keep Your Save Data For Up to Six Months Past Expiration of Membership

Have you been wondering how long Nintendo keeps your cloud backup saves once your membership has expired?

IGN reached out to Nintendo recently and got the following statement back from them:

If a Nintendo Switch Online membership expires, users won’t be able to access their Save Data Cloud backups. However, Nintendo will allow users who resubscribe within 180 days to access their previous Save Data Cloud backups.

That is quite generous if you ask us!  Six months should be plenty of time to get your membership re-activated!

While the Nintendo Switch Online service has been somewhat lacking, the cloud saves feature is the only saving grace of this service (being able to play online is nice as well but we had already been getting that for free…call us spoiled I guess).

What are your thoughts after having spent a little time with the service?  We would really like to know!  Drop us a line in the comments below and be sure to check out our great Community!
