Did you think the Wii U was completely dead with no support from Nintendo? Honestly, we did too. Seems like we were wrong! Nintendo has just released a firmware update bringing the version to 5.5.3 U…as a programmer though it is strange seeing the “U” at the end as that is not standard versioning practices.
This update really doesn’t do a whole lot of anything so don’t get too excited:
Improvements to system stability and usability:
Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience
Anyone have one of those Nintendo “stability” memes on hand?
It is still good to see that Nintendo is providing updates to the system. To be quite honest, although it wasn’t near as popular as it deserved to be, I love my Wii U and had some great memories on it. I still use it from time to time but more often than not these days I use it to stream Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime (yes I know Hulu is on the Switch but until the others make it over or they stop being supported on it I will still exclusively be using my Wii U to stream them).
