Japan 2017 Top Sales Across All Platforms

If you were wondering about the overall sales in Japan for the year of 2017 then you have come to the right place.

The Japanese really do love their portable gaming as seen below where the 3DS took top honors for overall platform sales while PS4 came in close behind, besting the Nintendo Switch by almost 9%.

Total software sales for new games

– 32,246,044 units sold

Total software sales for used games

– 19,982,155 units sold

Software sales per platform

– 3DS was the top platform for software sales at 12,008,236 units sold
– Switch accounted for 22.73% of software sales, which equals 7,328,882 units sold
– Wii U accounted for 2.01% of software sales, equaling 646,738 units sold
