There have been rumors and speculation about the possibility of the Nintendo Switch having VR capabilities. While the thought is quite intriguing, it obviously wouldn’t be “true” VR. You could theoretically compare it to the same experience you get by using your phone and Google Cardboard so you could throw out the idea of getting Oculus Rift or Playstation VR-like quality. It would have to be its own dedicated peripheral that connects to the Switch, itself, much like Playstation VR and have dedicated titles such as Resident Evil 7. Still, the thought of playing something like Splatoon or Mario Kart in VR sounds absolutely thrilling.
Recently, a Twitter user by the name of “random666_kys” has uncovered a screen in the Switch OS that shows that Nintendo has apparently been dabbling in that area of technology:
