Not All Games Will Require Switch Online Membership It Seems

August 1, 2018

Switch Online will be debuting next month and the common thinking was that if you wanted to play online you have to have a paid membership.  Recent news has it that it seems not ALL titles are going to require a paid membership, however.

When looking at titles that have an online component on the Nintendo website/eShop they have the following:

“From the full launch of the Nintendo Switch Online membership service in 2018, online play requires a paid membership.”

Free-to-play games, however, have this information missing from their listing.  Here is the current list of titles that do not have this on their listing:

– Paladins
– Fortnite
– Pokémon Quest
– Dawn of the Breakers
– Fallout Shelter
– Galak-Z: Variant S
– Zaccaria Pinball
– The Pinball Arcade
– Kitten Squad
– Pinball FX3

Does this truly mean that these titles will not require a paid membership to Switch Online?  Let us know what ya think in the comments below or let’s have a conversation on our new Community forums!
